2011 Kia Optima- Safety

Search for your Kia Optima right here at Applewood!

Rear-view Camera

When your vehicle is placed into reverse, a full colour camera display will be shown on your rear-view mirror or navigation screen (if equipped).

Front Safety Power Windows

The front safety power windows detect obstacles when closing, and if detected, will automatically lower themselves.

Anti-Whiplash Active Front Headrests

Front headrests move forward and upwards in the first milliseconds of a rear-end collision to help reduce neck injuries.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

Automatically adjusts brake pressure at individual wheels and regulates engine torque to help keep you on your desired path through tight turns during evasive manoeuvres  and in slippery conditions.

Front, Rear, Side and Curtain Airbags

How do you make an airbag-equipped mid-size sedan safer? You add even more, of course. Our engineers continuously look for undiscovered impact zones and additional situational impact severity. As a result, we developed additional airbag deployment zones throughout the all-new Optima.

The result? A passive safety system that improves impact resistance and protection from all sides, using ultra-high-strength construction and dual front airbags, front-seat-mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags. This long list of advanced safety features is closely monitored by advanced sensors that continually measure impact force. These sensors also monitor seat-belt use, at which point airbag inflation is controlled accordingly.

We've even installed driver and front-passenger safety windows that roll down automatically when an obstacle (or inevitable collision) is detected.

Isn't it about time peace of mind no longer came at a premium in the world of automotive design?
