At Applewood, we want to give back to the community in any way possible. After all, we wouldn't be where we are today without the great people that work with us, and the community that surrounds our dealership. Below are just a few of the events and causes that we are proud to support.
Across the country, many high schools have lost their football teams, or are soon about to. This year, Nissan is supporting 21 struggling Canadian high school football teams in need from Vancouver to Montreal.
Applewood Nissan, in conjunction with Nissan Canada and King George Nissan, presented the Earl Marriott Mariners Football team with new goal post pads for their field as well as new uniform pants and Back in the Game hats. BC Lions own Willy Buono was also there to provide some encouraging words to the team and take pictures.
On October 1st our Applewood Kia team rode in the Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley. We are very proud to support the ride for kids and are humbled to actively be driving change in our local community through building awareness and collecting funds.
At the events stop in Langley, Darren Graham and Norman Isaak (in yellow) of Applewood presented a $5,000 donation to Cops for Cancer. Applewood Kia also contributed three cars to use towards supporting the tour on the road. Whether your support comes is big or small sizes, always remember that everything counts!
Sunday, July 20th was the 2014 Prospera Valley GranFondo event which Applewood Auto Group proudly sponsors and participates in every year. This year nine of our Applewood team members got up bright and early and cycled 160 km through the Fraser Valley. Although it rained nearly the entire time we all know it doesnt need to be sunny out to enjoy the scenery of beautiful B.C.!
A big thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, and participants of the event that made it run so smoothly. We would also like to thank our remarkable employees that participated this year as it would not have been the same without your team spirit. We are very proud to be a Presenting Sponsor of this wonderful event and we cannot wait to participate again in the 2015 GranFondo!
On August 9th, Applewood Kia Surrey hosted a support Vancouver Whitecaps FC event with a guest appearance by Carl Valentine. With autograph signings from our guest and other activities to pass the day it was quite the hit.
The event included activities such as guessing the number of soccer balls in the Sorento or the kick-to-win game where families won exciting prizes like Whitecaps FC jerseys or Whitecaps FC game tickets! There were also appearances by the Kia Hamsters, who were show casing their Kia Soul and having fun with the families partaking in the event.
The all-new redesigned and refreshed 2014 Kia Rondo has been examined, driven, and reviewed by our local paper the Vancouver Sun! The two reviewers concur that the Rondo hits exactly where we thought it would the affordable and feature-laden hatchback serves countless perks in a spacious interior. Basically, the Kia Rondo has the function of a minivan, but with the form of a hatchback who really wants to drive a minivan anyway, especially through our crowded streets!
The 2014 Kia Rondo is revamped. From first sight it is apparent that the new model has a youthful edge to it something that was lacking in the previous model. From front to back this truly is a hatchback that contends with the most attractive in the class other manufacturers take notice! Whether base level or upgraded, style comes standard on the 2014 Kia Rondo.
Inside, there is plentiful space for driver and passenger alike. Storage room is ample, leg room is comfortable, and there is even a third row of seating in the back just in case. Also, with a 164 horsepower, 2.0 litre engine this car is anything but underpowered, yet still manages to maintain a combined fuel economy of 6.3 L/100 KM.
The 2014 Kia Rondo EX Luxury was used in the Vancouver Sun test. This trim level comes standard with parking sensors, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated steering wheel with audio controls, smart key entry, leather seats, Bluetooth control, Xenon HID headlights, and so much more. On Saturday September 7th, Applewood Kia Surrey was the Diamond Sponsor at the 15th Annual Fleetwood Festival at Fleetwood Park in Surrey. Thousands of people came from all over the Lower Mainland to enjoy a day of fun and sun with us and the Surrey community. Applewood Kia Surrey would like to thank all of the community members, sponsors, and volunteers for a smooth, fun, and rewarding afternoon!
Applewood Kia Surrey would also like to thank its employees for helping out. Throughout the afternoon, countless Applewood Kia Surrey employees sacrificed their time off to hand out balloons and brochures for kids and adults, talk with families, and generally represent Applewood Kia Surrey and the Applewood Auto Group in an exceptional way. The festival would not be the same without the enthusiasm and generosity of our employees. We dont like to brag, but we are lucky have some of the best people in the business.
The Fleetwood Festival celebrates the heritage, history and community of the city of Surrey. Throughout the day there is a fun run and walk as well as a youth talent show. On the grounds, a carnival is set up complete with carnival games, family rides, and play areas for small children. The event has grown every year with over 3,000 attending in 2013. We are sure that there will be even more in attendance next September at the 16th Annual Fleetwood Festival, because everyone left smiling.
The employees at Applewood Kia Surrey would like to thank all of the people who came by the tent throughout the day. Without the support of the community this event wouldnt be any fun. If you are in the market for a new or used car, come out to an Applewood Auto Group dealership near you. We value every relationship we create with our customers, and would like to help you save money and find the perfect car for you and your family. See you next year!
